Teen Volunteering at Marple Library
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community. You will also earn valuable real-world experience which can help with future job resumes and college applications.
Why the Library?
The Library provides a versatile environment suited to your skills and interests. Enjoy being active and working with kids? Volunteer to help out during storytimes or for Children’s programs. Want something quieter? Help the reference Librarian pull books on hold or do shelf reading. Got a mind for science and math? Join our Teen Science Cafe admin board, or be a Science in the Summer helper. Can’t get enough of books? Join the planning committee for our new Teen Reading Lounge.
As a library volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to meet other teens, help your community, and assist in creating all the excitement at Marple Library this summer!
Volunteering during Covid-19?
As with many things in our communities, libraries have changed with the presence of COVID-19. To ensure the safety of our patrons, we cannot encourage our close-knit volunteer family like we usually do. But that will not stop us from providing services to patrons, and volunteer opportunities to our teens.
We must adapt. So this year we are asking our teens to volunteer virtually. We are offering volunteer hours in exchange for YA book reviews.
