Workshops/Clubs: We are proud to offer an array of programs for all ages. We strive to make this library a favorite place in Marple.  Click on the link for details about our adult, tween/teens, and children’s programs.

Adult Quiet Room: Everyone needs a little peace and quiet from time to time.  You can find that place to concentrate and/or study in Marple Library’s Quiet Room. Cell phone use not allowed.  This special space has been furnished through the generosity of the Friends of Marple Library and Broomall Rotary Club.

Material Holds: If you want an item that is checked out from a Delaware County library, you may place a hold on that book at our circulation desk. You will be notified by telephone or email when that item arrives. Held items must be picked up within five days.

Interlibrary Loans: If you need an item not held by a Delaware County library, you may ask us to try to find it in another library within the state or across the country.  You will be notified when the item arrives. Items must be picked up within five days. A request can be made by phone or in person.

Homebound Delivery Service: We offer free home delivery of library materials to township residents who are unable to visit the library due to Short- or Long-term illness,  Non-driver status (Senior) and/or Physical Challenge.

Once a month a volunteer or staff member will deliver library items to the patron’s home.  The following month those materials will be picked up and a new selection will be dropped off.  Specific books may be requested by title, and assistance is offered in selecting books by category.

To enroll in the homebound program, the patron must complete this Reading Interest Survey so that we can better assist in material selection.  The homebound delivery service is free. Overdue fines are not charged on homebound material; however, patrons are responsible for damaged or lost items. For more information about our Homebound Delivery Service contact Bridgette at (610) 356-1510, extension 705.

Book a Librarian: Library users may schedule up to a thirty-minute session with a librarian who will provide assistance with library resources and services. The librarian will assist with one topic per session. Complete this form, BAL 2019, to Book a Librarian.

Community Puzzle:  The Community Puzzle is open to everyone.  All you have to do is stop by the puzzle, near the Reference Desk, and spend some time adding a few pieces. Enjoying the benefits of jigsaw puzzles (reduced anxiety, increased patience, boosted problem-solving skills, and enhanced brain functioning) while contributing to this joint effort.

Museum Passes: Enjoy visiting museums but can’t handle the cost of taking the whole family? Check out our collection of museum passes to the Academy of Natural Sciences, the Battleship New Jersey, Elmwood Park Zoo, Independence Seaport Museum, Morris Arboretum, the Museum of the American Revolution, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Penn Museum, and the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum.

Proctoring Services: Qualified librarians are available by appointment to proctor examinations and tests.   We will provide a public access computer for online exams.  It is the responsibility of the test taker to schedule a date with sufficient time to take the exam before the deadline established by the institution/examining body and to ensure that our computing resources are adequate for your test taking requirements.

Proctoring services must be scheduled a minimum of one week prior to the test date.. There is a fee for each exam proctored:  $20 for Marple Township Residents and $30 for non-residents.  We reserve the right to charge a $20/$30 cancellation fee if less than 24 hours’ notice is given or upon multiple cancellations.  Please review this attached Marple Public Library Proctoring Services Policy.  Test dates are scheduled in person at the Reference Desk or by phone at 610-356-1510.
