“The Great American Read” Challenge at Marple Library

How it works:

  • This challenge is based on The Great American Read, an eight-part series on PBS that explores and celebrates the power of reading through America’s 100 best-loved novels (as chosen in a national survey).
  • This reading challenge is open to adults 18+.
  • Read any book(s) from the Great American Read’s list of America’s 100 most-loved novels.
  • Complete an entry form for each book you read and submit it to the front desk staff.
  • At the end of the summer there will be random drawings for three prizes. The more you read, the more entries you’ll have and the better your odds of winning!
  • All entries must be submitted by 6:00 pm on August 31.
  • The list of the 100 Great American Read books is available at the front desk and online at www.pbs.org/the-great-american-read
  • Copies of the books can be found through the library system.  You can also check Overdrive and Hoopla to see if your chosen title is available.  Some titles are also available on our pre-loaded Kindles.
